Commissioner's speeches and press releases, 1973-1986.

This series consists of speeches, press releases, and related material created by the office of the Commissioner of the Dept. of Commerce, later the Dept. of Economic Development. Also included are a smaller amount of clippings and articles related to programs put forward by the dept., interview transcripts, testimony transcripts, and lists of assignments. Some of the speeches were delivered by officials of the dept. other than the commissioner. The Commissioner of the Dept. of Economic Development is also the chairman of the New York Job Development Authority and some of the material was created for his use in that capacity.
